3MTT: First batch of 30,000 fellows ready for job market, FG says

The Federal Government has said that the first batch of 30,000 fellows of its 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) are set to explore local and international job opportunities.

The 3MTT programme said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that aims to build Nigeria’s technical talent pool to drive the nation’s digital economy and position the country as a leading exporter of talent.

On June 27, Cohort 1 fellows were notified via the organisers’ X handle about the job opportunities available to them. “We are pleased to inform you that you can now explore job opportunities on the 3MTT Job Boards! These Job Boards are accessible to Fellows who have completed both online courses and ALC training. Sign up today and apply for roles both locally and remotely,” according to the statement.

To be eligible for placement, the 3MTT promoters said, fellows must have completed the online courses and ALC training, and then update their Curriculum Vitae (CV) with technical skills, accurate contact information, and a portfolio link if available. The fellows of the cohort have diverse skills, spanning across 12 different courses offered by the organizers, including UI/UX Design, Digital Marketing, Project Management Software, Cloud Platforms Navigation, Data Analysis and Visualization, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and CRM Management Accounting Software, Graphics Design and others

The 3MTT programme is structured into three cohorts in accordance with the Ministry’s 1%-10%-100% implementation strategy. The first phase aims to train and place 30,000 technical talents, representing 1% of the overall target. This phase will be carried out based on a framework co-created with key stakeholders from government agencies, training providers, educational institutions, development agencies, and the private sector.
