The Special Adviser on Special Needs to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Hon. Kamil Aransi, has lauded the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, over the successful passage of the Osun State Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Bill, 2024.

Aransi, in a release made available to the media in Ibadan, also commended the lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Irekandu), and other members of the House of Assembly.

The special adviser, who could not hide his joy and excitement over the passage of the bill, described it as a better approach to assist the government and people with disabilities in their journey of inclusion.

He appreciated Adeyemi for sponsoring the bill, and stated that he has no doubts that the bill would not only secure the welfare, health and education of every person with disability in the state but also protect their rights.

According to him, the bill would give those with disability equal rights to participate in decision-making, stating that they would also be able to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the state.

Aransi, who described Senatoror Ademola Adeleke as a governor with a human face who is consciously driven by compassion and extreme affection for the poor and vulnerable, maintained that the governor would be eager to sign the bill into law, set up the necessary bureau and allow it to function for the public good.

“Senator Adeleke is a leader for all. I am glad that Osun State is leading the discussion of empowering persons with disabilities through state apparatus and it shows the compassion and desperation of the governor to grow the state in all measures,” Aransi said.
