Anambra State Governor, Chukuma Soludo, has made a call to Anambra State indigenes to return home and tap into the wealth of opportunities available in the state.
Governor Soludo, who made the call during the official groundbreaking ceremony of the construction site of the Oakville Millennium City project, added that Anambra State is currently the best state for investment opportunities due to its water-tight security network and enabling ground for businesses.
Unveiling the Millennium City construction site, Soludo commended the Think-Home Development and Realtors Limited team (owners of Oakville Millennium City) led by its Group CEO, Engr. Machiavelli Chidi Okafor, for thinking it right to return home and invest.
He further encouraged Ndi Anambra at home and in the diaspora to invest in the opportunities that Oakville infrastructure has provided in the state and support their plan to turn Anambra into a smart city.
The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, also noted that the project will contain many installations like electricity and structures that will give it a befitting look like what is obtainable in most developed cities across the world.
On his part, while addressing the teeming dignitaries that included the MD/ CEO of Anambra state investment promotion and protection agency, ANSIPPA, Mr Mark Okoye, the State Commissioner for Lands, Prof Affomze Amucheazi, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa representative of Mr Peter Obi, Group CEO M-P Infrastructure Ltd Chief Clem Nwogbo, representative of CHEVRON, Chief Uzo Nwosu, representative of SHELL, Uche Ozoemena, LNG, NNPC representatives, members of the state house of Assembly, traditional rulers and others, the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Think-Home Development and Realtors Limited, Engr Machiavelli Chidi Okafor, said that OAKVILLE Millennium City is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project between Anambra State Government and Home Development and Realtors Limited, a multi-sectoral investor in power, Housing Development and other infrastructure projects across Nigeria and beyond
Engr. Okafor said that the company was established to consolidate and streamline the entire value chain in the infrastructure service business, as well as provide world-class solutions to address and meet the needs of the people and reduce the cost of infrastructure acquisition across the African continent.
He further noted that the estate, Oakville Millennium City, is part of Governor Soludo’s vision of creating a smart city where our people will love and desire to stay.
“OAKVILLE has assembled a team of professionals who have proven themselves in various fields of infrastructural development to create an estate with ultra-modern facilities that are comparable to what is obtainable in the Western world.
“OAKVILLE Estate is the first and only estate in Anambra that is currently designed with an underground drainage system and an experience house that has a lounge, cinema, conference room, gym, and rooftop bar.
“The estate, when completed, will be a smart estate, equipped with an electric vehicle charger, he added.
Engr. Okafor, while commending Governor Soludo on the ongoing construction of new government houses, roads, Solution Fun City, Awka 2.0, and numerous other projects across the state, said that with the above-mentioned testament, Ndi-Anambra, both at home and in diaspora, can now conveniently key into the Aku Luo Uno (welcome home) mantra of the state government.
