Benue youth group slams Suswam for criticising Tinubu

A former governor of Benue, Sen. Gabriel Suswam has come under fire from youths in the state, under the auspices of Tiv Youth Council Worldwide for “always attacking” the government of President Bola Tinubu.

The Tiv Youth group, in a statement signed by its President, Chief Michael Msuaan, and made available to journalists in Abuja Gabriel Suswam lacks moral fortitude to criticise Tinubu’s administration.

Msuaan asserted that the ex-governor was only seeking relevance in his desperation to become the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He insisted that Suswam lacks the moral authority to criticise President Tinubu having performed “very poorly” as the governor of Benue.

He said: “Suswam’s tenure did not witness any meaningful development in the state. When has Suswam become an advocate of good governance when he was active in the leprosy years of the PDP that destroyed the fabric of this country?”

“Ever since Suswam lost his senatorial seat and was defeated in court, frustration has taken over. His quest for the national chairmanship of the PDP is just a manifestation of frustration from a power monger”.

The group told Sen. Suswam to direct his anger for his inability to emerge as the PDP National chairman to the members of NEC of his party who do not have confidence in him other than directing it at President Tinubu.

The Tiv Youth group noted with dismay the role Suswam played in the crisis that rocked the Northern Governors Forum and how he pulled out of the Northern Governors Forum.

This, they said, was divisive and points to the fact that Suswam lacks the integrity to unite a party like the PDP.

The group maintained that the “infamous role played by Suswam in the governor’s forum election where 16 was greater than 19 is still fresh on the minds of Nigerians”.

“An opposition party intending to serve as an alternative to the ruling party should not contemplate having a national chairman with corruption charges all over the courts,” Msuaan admonished.

Chief Michael Msuaan, who served as Director, Youth Mobilization, North Central Zone of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council stated that “President Tinubu is a skilled administrator who has so far demonstrated the willpower to take difficult decisions for the growth and development of the country.

“Sooner or later naysayers like Suswam will be out of business.“
