Customs sensitise retired senior officers on automated retiree verification system

A sensitisCustoms has sensitized retired senior officers on an automated retiree verification systematic program aimed at implementing an automated retiree verification system for esteemed high-ranking officers who have gracefully retired from the Service.

This pioneering program kicked off on Monday, April 22, 2024, which introduced a pivotal shift towards modernising the traditional process of benefits application for retired Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs), Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs), and Comptrollers, offering them a streamlined and efficient electronic verification platform.

In a gathering held at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, the retirees were addressed by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, represented by Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Festus Okun, who oversees Finance Administration & Technical Service. Okun hailed the initiative as timely and reassured the retirees of a smooth verification exercise.

“Esteemed retirees, it is my privilege to address you today on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. Acknowledging the significance of ensuring retirees receive their rightful benefits and entitlements, Okun pledged transparency, efficiency, and accountability throughout the process. “As Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs overseeing Finance Administration & Technical Service, your concerns and needs remain our top priority. Your invaluable contributions to the Customs are deeply appreciated, and we are dedicated to supporting you in every aspect of your transition into retirement,” he affirmed.
