Damagum consoles Sokoto PDP chairman over mother’s death

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum, has extended condolences to the Sokoto State Party Chairman, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, over the death of his mother.

This condolence was conveyed in a statement by Hon. Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman on Media and Communications, and issued to newsmen on Friday in Sokoto.

Dingyadi mentioned that a delegation led by Hon. Umar Mohammed Bature, the PDP National Organizing Secretary, visited Goronyo’s family and delivered the condolence letter on behalf of Damagum and the party leadership.

According to him, Damagum was deeply saddened by the loss and described the death as a significant and irreparable loss, as the deceased was the pillar of the family who nurtured and raised them.

“The death of Hajia Khadija Goronyo is very painful; she left a void that is difficult to fill, given her valuable and supportive contributions.

“We, on behalf of the entire leadership of our great party, extend our condolences to the state party chairman, state party members, and, by extension, the rest of the family members and Sokoto citizens over this sad loss,” he quoted Damagum.

He prayed for the deceased and urged family members to emulate her community and religious contributions in the state and nationally.

In response, the PDP Sokoto state chairman extended his gratitude for the message and the visit to sympathise with the family over their loss.

He prayed for Almighty God to continue to guide and support the leadership of the party under Ambassador Iliya Damagum for peace, unity, and progress.
