Digital Certificate: WAEC Lauds Positive Feedbacks From Stakeholders

Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Nigeria, expressed satisfaction with the positive feedback the council’s digital certificate platform has garnered from various stakeholders within and beyond Africa’s borders.
Dr. Dangut shared his remarks during a press briefing at the WAEC office in Yaba, Lagos. The briefing aimed to inform the public about the commencement date for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
The examination, which is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, will run until June 24, 2024.
Addressing journalists’ inquiries regarding the success of the digital certificate platform, Dr. Dangut emphasized its significant benefits to stakeholders in the education sector. He noted that the platform has streamlined processes such as result verification, access, sharing, and confirmation and expedited students’ admission into tertiary institutions worldwide.
Dr. Dangut highlighted the positive feedback from stakeholders in Nigeria and abroad, indicating the platform’s compliance with global standards and robust data protection measures.
Regarding the commencement of the 2024 WASSCE, Dr. Dangut assured stakeholders of WAEC’s readiness to initiate the examination, which will span seven weeks and six days.

He underscored WAEC’s commitment to conducting credible examinations in collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders and expressed gratitude for their continued support and cooperation.
Dr. Dangut concluded by reaffirming WAEC’s preparedness and dedication to upholding its mandate of delivering credible examinations for the Nigerian Child and the public while expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for their unwavering support.
