EFCC Saga: You May Meet Bobrisky In Prison — PDP Chieftain Jeers Yahaya Bello

The prosecution named Bello in one of the newly-introduced counts as an accomplice.
But the agency has yet to charge him as a defendant.

Austin Okai, PDP house of representatives candidate for Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, has slammed former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello for preventing EFCC prosecution over alleged N84bn theft.
Following the former governor’s statement that the EFCC had ignored a court order by trying to arrest him in connection with the alleged N84 billion embezzlement, Okai responded.
Despite his attempts to avoid arrest, Yahaya Bello may wind up in prison like Bobrisky, a Nigerian transvestite, according to a post made by Okai on Thursday morning.
“They have prepared the worse sides of prison for him and he may even meet Bobrisky there,” he wrote.
Operatives of the EFCC on Wednesday barricaded the Abuja home of Bello.
The former governor’s home is located on Benghazi Street in Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory.
He has been engaged in a legal dispute with the EFCC prior to his resignation in January.
Due to the agency’s longstanding interest in him, in 2022 the Federal High Court in Abuja received N10 billion in corruption allegations against his nephew Ali Bello and a co-defendant for money laundering.
A few days after his term came to an end, on February 5, the EFCC changed the accusations against the younger Bello and his co-defendant, Dauda Suleiman, in a case that dates back to 2022.
This involved increasing the number of counts from 10 to 17.

The prosecution named Bello in one of the newly-introduced counts as an accomplice.
But the agency has yet to charge him as a defendant.
