Expressing concern over potential food crisis, Gyang calls for immediate action to address escalating violence and insecurity in Plateau State
Jacob Buba Gyang, the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs has voiced worries about the ongoing attacks in various parts of the state, which coincide with the onset of the farming season.
Gyang called upon Governor Caleb Mutfwang to promptly implement measures to safeguard lives and property, especially for rural residents whose livelihoods depend on agriculture.
Expressing apprehension that the escalating violence could disrupt agricultural activities, Gyang urged the governor to take immediate action to avert a potential food crisis.
He made these appeals during Tuesday’s launch of Governor Mutfwang’s Tin City Metro buses in Jos, the state capital.
Gyang stressed the importance of proactive steps to tackle the insecurity prevalent in certain rural areas of the state, highlighting the fear gripping farmers and hindering them from attending to their fields.
