Get prepared for nation building, Kwara governor charges corps member

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has charged the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 corps members to get prepared to contribute their quota to national development.

The governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser/Counsellor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, at the swearing-in ceremony of the corps members at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Yikpata, Edu local government, said that, as citizens, their youthful vigour should be deployed to the development of the country.

“Onus rests on you to be physically, psychologically, and socially ready to face the rigours of nation-building as full-fledged Nigerian adults who are well imbued with the attributes of good citizenship and patriotism.

“I want you to justify the confidence reposed in you as leaders of this great nation by making patriotism, discipline, good conduct, honesty, and hard work your watchwords throughout the duration of the course and thereafter.”

The governor also pledged continued support for the welfare and security of corps members currently serving and newly deployed to the state for their national service, adding that his administration has contributed to youth development in the state.

Meanwhile, the state coordinator for NYSC Kwara State, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, in his welcome address, appreciated the governor for his support.

He, however, appealed to the stakeholders to complement the efforts of the government by making their presence felt on the camp by erecting structures and embarking on projects that would be beneficial to the corps members and other camp participants.
