INEC uploads 66,634 results to IReV portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission has posted 66,634 election results for state Houses of Assembly and governorship elections so far.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that opposition parties and some Nigerians chastised INEC for failing to upload results immediately on its result viewing portal during the presidential election on February 25, but the commission explained that technical glitches hampered result transmission, which many critics refused to accept.

A few days before the March 18 elections, however, INEC declared that the technical problems had been resolved and gave Nigerians the assurance that the election results would be broadcast right away.
