Investigate alleged blackmail targeted at Mohbad’s widow, Group tells Police

A group, Justice For Mohbad Group (JMG), has called on the Nigeria Police and other law enforcement agencies in the country to investigate the alleged blackmail targeted at Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, and some prominent members of the group.

JMG made the call in a statement signed by King White, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Sunday, saying sadly that the lingering controversies generated by the death of the late Ileri Oluwa Aloba (Mohbad) were yet to be resolved.

The group alleged that some elements masquerading as sympathizers of Mohbad’s father had embarked on a huge blackmailing strategy to stop justice for the soul of the late singer, saying that JMG had at its disposal “reports of how the United Kingdom-based Adebanwo Idowu Fatai, also known as Lagata, allegedly resorted to blackmail and lies against Wunmi and members of our group.”

White, however, insisted that no amount of blackmail can change the resolve of the group to seek justice for the late Mohbad, who he described as a big inspiration to many upcoming acts both when he was alive and even in death.

Recall that Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Aloba, had raised a similar alarm to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and well-meaning Nigerians to save her from those who allegedly threatened her life and that of her children.
