On Thursday, the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi saw another discovery, less than twenty-four hours after 86 rooms and a container used for various illicit activities were found beneath the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Lagos.
Before it was found and demolished by the state government, the Dolphin Estate Bridge structure, which had 86 rooms divided into 10 by 10 and 12 by 10 categories, housed unlawful residents.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab disclosed that the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps known as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), discovered another illegal settlement under the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi.
Wahab made this revelation in a post on his verified X handle today, as he noted that the illegal settlers have been dislodged from under the bridge.
He added, “They have all been removed by the enforcement team of Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.”
However, a development that baffles netizens was the revelation that tenants under the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi were paying an annual rent of N250, 000.
Meanwhile, 19 individuals were arrested under the bridge in Ikoyi, as the shanties were all dismantled by the Lagos State Environmental Safety Corps.
