Kano Government Gives Pillars 3-Game Ultimatum To Regain Form

Kano State Government gives Kano Pillars Football Club a three-game request to improve their performance in the league
Acting Commissioner of Youths and Sports emphasizes the need for decisive action to reverse Kano Pillars’ recent lacklustre performances

To rejuvenate Kano Pillars Football Club, the Kano State Government has issued a stern three-game request to the team’s management and technical staff.
Acting Commissioner of Youths and Sports Hamza Safiyanu Kachako issued the ultimatum in response to Kano Pillars’ recent lacklustre performances in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League.
Known fondly as “Sai Masu Gida,” Kano Pillars faced a setback in their latest match, suffering a 2-1 defeat against Bendel Insurance of Benin. This loss compounded their woes following consecutive defeats, including a 1-2 home loss to Shooting Stars and a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Enyimba International.
Highlighting the state government’s unwavering support for Kano Pillars under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s leadership, Commissioner Kachako stressed the urgency for decisive action to reverse the team’s fortunes.
The management and technical staff of Kano Pillars were urged to effect a turnaround starting with the next three crucial fixtures. The first encounter is against struggling Gombe United on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, followed by clashes with former champions Akwa United and Doma United of Gombe.
With 41 points from 30 matches, Kano Pillars occupies the 7th spot on the table. To revive their season, they must secure maximum points in the upcoming games.

Commissioner Kachako disclosed that the Ministry of Sports, under his leadership, has allocated the necessary funds for Kano Pillars FC to complete their remaining league matches. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf approved this support, which underscores the state’s commitment to sports development.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Yusuf for his steadfast backing, Kachako urged loyal fans to rally behind Kano Pillars during this critical juncture.
