Lagos gears for Ken Caleb Olumese’s 80th birthday

For a man who abandoned the priesthood for nightclubbing, with a confession of  ‘no regrets’, the city of Lagos is already in gear with preparations for the 80th birthday of the businessman known as the ‘Guv’nor’ in and outside of the aquatic city where he spent 40 years of his life running the Niteshift Coliseum.

Ken Caleb Olumese will join the Octogenarian club in May, and as expected, this calls for a big celebration for someone who has spent all his life celebrating others.

The Nightshift Coliseum’s ‘Grand House Reception’ at the time was like the highest honour in Nigeria bestowed upon achievers and successful individuals in the field of governance and business.

Olumese who opted out of the nightlife scene for personal reasons linked with his age is set to experience a reward in friendship as friends and patrons of the old Nightshift Coliseum are coming back together to stage a befitting birthday celebration to a man of many qualities.
