My fears for this generation of parents —Spyro

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Spyro, known for his soul-stirring melodies, has voiced his concerns for the upcoming generation of parents. In a message he shared with his fans, the artiste delved into his personal journey, highlighting the big role his mother played in shaping his destiny.

Spyro reminisced about his difficult childhood, admitting he was once perceived as the “odd one out,” even a “rejected stone.”

However, he noted that despite facing challenges and setbacks, his mother remained a source of encouragement as he recounted a time when she visited him at boarding school and was shocked at the level of struggle and he had to endure.

According to him, instead of his mother succumbing to despair, she showered him with prayers of greatness, rooted in her unwavering faith.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Spyro emphasised the transformative power of a praying mother, underscoring the indispensable role of parental guidance in navigating life’s complexities.

Expressing trepidation for the future, he questioned whether the current generation possesses the same fervor for prayer and resilience in the face of adversity.

In his message, Spyro remarked, “Life troubles do not recognise ‘Bad Bitch,’ ‘GenZ Baddies,’ ‘Zaddy,’ ‘BigBoy which are common slangs among today’s generation who are also giving birth to children without the knowledge of prayer’. Life problems only respond to power.”

Recalled that last year, Spyro publicly honoured his mother’s enduring sacrifices by surprising her with a brand-new car on her birthday. In a heartwarming gesture of love, he fulfilled a childhood promise, symbolising his deep appreciation for her unwavering support.
