N/Central APC Stakeholders Insist On Ganduje’s Resignation

APC stakeholders in North Central renewed a call for Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s resignation as national chairman, citing discontent with his leadership
Despite the alleged suspension, APC members in North Central are pushing for Ganduje to retain the national chairman position, sparking renewed agitation

A consortium of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from the North Central region has reiterated its call for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. In a message titled “Vote of No Confidence and Request for the Removal of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as National Chairman of the APC,” signed by Mohammed Mahmud Saba and shared with our correspondent, Concerned North Central APC Stakeholders voiced their discontent with Ganduje’s leadership.
Ganduje’s alleged suspension has sparked renewed agitation among APC members in the North Central region to maintain the national chairman’s position.
The message, also forwarded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume, explicitly stated the region’s lack of confidence in Ganduje’s leadership and urged for his immediate resignation.
Mahmud Saba emphasized that Ganduje’s appointment as national chairman contravened the APC constitution and disregarded the North Central’s rightful claim to the position after Senator Abdullahi Adamu’s departure.

In a parallel development, the North Central APC Forum, comprising another set of APC stakeholders from the region, has urged state party chairmen to distance themselves from a recent vote of confidence in Ganduje. The forum’s chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, asserted that such an endorsement did not serve the North Central’s interests and could potentially weaken the party’s foothold in the region, pivotal to its success in the 2023 elections.
Zazzaga underscored the region’s significant role in the APC’s electoral victories and asserted its entitlement to the National Chairmanship. He implored APC stakeholders and governors from the North Central to rally behind their cause in securing the coveted position.
