Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has commended his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, for the active, passionate and resilient manner in which he steered the ship of leadership as the acting governor while he was on leave.
He also expressed appreciation and gratitude to all citizens of the state for their continued show of understanding toward his administration.
Bago made this known in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Bologi.
The governor applauded members of the State Executive Council, the leadership and members of the legislature, the judiciary, traditional and religious leaders, as well as the heads of security agencies in the state for their overwhelming support and contributions.
According to him, their support facilitated the smooth running of governance while he was away, and he commended media organizations and all practicing journalists in the state for their role in promoting the growth and development of Niger State.
He explained that the leave period had afforded him the opportunity to reflect and evaluate the impact of his administration’s policies and programs with a view to improving them for better service delivery to the people.
The governor then reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people diligently and with more vigor to achieve the New Niger Agenda.
Recall that the Governor embarked on a one-month leave after the State Assembly approved his request to transmit the powers of his office to his Deputy to act as the Governor.
