The Chairman of the association  Rev Father Maurice Kole Hassan disclosed this in a press conference held at the CAN headquarter in Dutse, the state capital responding to media report which allegedly claim the division within CAN, said “there is no any division. The association remains one and united in JIgawa state”.

According to the chairman “our attention has been drown on a publication in some of media (not National Update) with title FG’s 600 bags of Rice of palliative divides CAN in JIgawa state, which emanated from one pastor Ibrahim Yahaya, a pastor of Evangelical Church of Christ in Nigeria (ECCN) in Hadejia whom claimed allege injustice and selective in collections and distribution of palliative given by the federal government in the state “.

The CAN chairman chairman said “we the Christian Association of Nigeria, JIgawa state chapter are highly disappointed at the way and manner the this pastor behaved”.

Rev Father Maurice Kole Hassan explained that “he (pastor Ibrahim) never parts of CAN executives either at the state or local government level and therefore, not a stakeholder. He never identified him self with CAN and it’s activities in anyway, only to surface as a faceless stakeholder”.

“We highly condemned in a strong term the unguided action in which he approached the state government straight without without expressing his grievances through the right channel first before taking such a steps”.

He maintained that “we expected him have behave maturely by claiming his share of the rice through his TEKAN/ECWA bloc or Hadejia local government where he belongs to”.

The CAN insisted that “we the CAN as the body of Christ under the leadership of Rec Fr Maurice Kole Hassan are solidly united and stronger both at the state and local government levels and at no time we were divided”.

Rev Father Hassan urged the bloc he (pastor Ibrahim) came from to consider sanctioning him, “to act as a deterrence to other potential misguided and selfish individuals like him”.

The association therefore expressed appreciation to the president and JIgawa state governor, “we appreciate the kindness and benevolence of His excellency president Bola Ahmed Tinibu for the palliative to the Christian Association of Nigeria in JIgawa state. We also thank His excellency governor Malam Umar Namadi for the confidence and trust he reposed upon us”.
