NSCDC, Army meet to strategise against insecurity in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, has met with the Nigerian Army to strategise on how to improve security in Anambra State.

This is coming on the heels of reports of cult killings in the Anambra State capital, Awka and kidnapping by suspected herdsmen in Ukwulu, a community in Dunukofia Local Government Area, also within the state capital territory.

Public Relations Officer for the NSCDC, Anambra State Command, SC Okadigbo Edwin disclosed the partnership in a press statement in Awka, on Wednesday.

He said the resolve was made during a courtesy call by the state commandant of the corps, Mr Olatunde Maku, to the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment (302 AR) Nigerian Army, Onitsha, Anambra State, Col. M. B. Abubakar.

Maku, who sought the collaboration of the Army to tackle the insecurity in Anambra, said: “Most of the confidence we have as NSCDC personnel is as a result of the Nigerian Army, you remember when I resumed my tour of duty, I saw the existing relationship between all security agencies and I keyed into it.
