The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has called on African leaders, policy makers and employers of labour to synergise on successful implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

In a statement yesterday to mark this year’s Africa Industrialisation Day, which holds every November 20, NUPENG President, Williams Akporeha, said the move should be mutually supportive.

Acknowledging that industrialisation was primary driver of economic growth, job creation and key to attaining the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and African Union’s Agenda 2063, Akporeha pointed out that the continent must leverage its abundant human and natural resources creatively to fast-track development and regional integration for enhanced growth and prosperity.
