Ogun: Gunmen attack Celestial church, abduct two worshippers

The Ogun State Police Command disclosed that a group of gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, stormed a Celestial Church situated in Oriyarin village, Mowe, within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, abducted two worshippers.

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the abduction of two worshippers, namely Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The assailants swiftly escaped through a dense forest adjacent to the church after the kidnapping.

CP Alamutu Abiodun, the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, has promptly ordered the mobilization of security personnel to pursue the perpetrators.

The statement issued on Friday underscores the urgency with which the authorities are responding to this suspected kidnapping, aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The statement reads, “Suspected kidnapping report at my disposal 28/3/2024 reveals that unidentified gunmen, invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village Mowe and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi, Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Alamutu Abiodun has been briefed and he has ordered immediate mobilization of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
