Okebukola commends JAMB registrar, Oloyede on improved conduct of UTME

The President of the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi-Africa), Professor Peter Okebukola, who is also a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has commended the JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede and his team for the success of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

While reacting, on Tuesday, to the release of the results of 1.84 million candidates out of a total of 1.98 million candidates, who participated in the exam, Okebukola noted that Oloyede, has, once again, proved to the world that JAMB, under his leadership can bring respectability, transparency and credibility to the conduct of public examinations.

He pointed out that the number of candidates to which JAMB administered the UTME is more than the entire 2023 population of some African countries including Guinea-Bisau, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius, Eswatini and Djibouti.

He emphasised that “This effort is a testament to the administrative and technical capacity of JAMB which Oloyede has expanded and strengthened since he assumed office as JAMB registrar, closing loopholes and backdoors that examination cheats continually seek to explore.”

Okebukola also noted that the speedy release of the results few hours after the conclusion of the examination is also  praiseworthy.

He urged Oloyede to keep up the good work, saying it is to the betterment of Nigeria’s public exam system and its education development in general.
