Olodogbo title is traditional not political, Ejemo tells critics

The Ejemo of Odogbo-Ijesha, Chief Adedeji Adeyeye has explained the rationale behind the installation of Oba Olatunde Oginni as the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha in Osun State.

Adeyeye’s explanation is sequel to a letter circulated on social media that the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy denied the existence of the title, Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha.

He explained that the title of Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha was not political but purely traditional, stating that Oba Oginni was duly selected and installed over 12 years ago due to his philanthropic and humanitarian deeds to the community.

He stressed that Oginni’s choice as Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha was the choice of the people of the community arrived at over a decade ago, with no one challenging this with any law suit.

According to Adeyeye, the Odogbo-Ijesha community has never relented in the demand for the recognition and enthronement of the title of the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha.

He, then, chided those intent on misleading the people with false information as he enjoined residents to continue to support the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesha for more development in the community.
