Ondo APC guber aspirant, Akinterinwa in EFCC custody

The anti-graft agency was reportedly investigating Akinterinwa for allegedly mismanaging billions of Naira

An All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, will be at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today.
Recall that Akinterinwa, who contested with 15 others for the party’s governorship ticket last Saturday, was invited by the anti-graft agency over financial impropriety.
The anti-graft agency was reportedly investigating Akinterinwa for allegedly mismanaging billions of Naira while serving as the Commissioner for Finance during late Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration.
It is gathered the EFCC extended an invitation to him some weeks back for questioning on some allegations but was “too busy” to honour the invitation.
However, in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, he expressed his readiness to finally honour the invitation of the EFCC.
He disclosed that he would be at the EFCC office today (Thursday) to clarify some of the issues raised by the EFCC.

He wrote “Today, I will be honouring the invitation from the EFCC to shed more light on some issues that the commission wants clarification on.
“I have confidence in the anti-graft agency to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is done”.
