Onireke, Oremeji, Bashorun, others to experience power outage today — TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has disclosed that its maintenance crew will carry out annual preventive maintenance on its second 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer, in its Jericho Transmission Substation today, Tuesday, April 23.

This is contained in a statement by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, on Tuesday. 

The TCN explained that the maintenance exercise is expected to take seven hours and will commence from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.

According to the statement, the maintenance work will affect the offtake of electricity to some areas in Ibadan. 

“Consequently, Ibadan DisCo will not be able to offtake electricity to its customers in BASHORUN, SECRETARIAT, YEMETU, OREMEJI, AWOLOWO, ONIREKE, BANK ROAD and FAN-MILK today for the stated period.

“TCN assures that bulk power supply will be restored through the transformer on completion of the maintenance,” the statement reads.
