Osun NNPP tackles Adeleke over newly designed state logo

Osun state chapter of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), on Thursday, took on Governor Ademola Adeleke over the newly designed logo for the state, saying it fell short of quality standards.

While expressing shock over the approval of the logo by the governor, the party contended that the development had affected the sensibility and rating of Osun State.

In a statement signed by the NNPP chairman in Osun State, Dr Tosin Odeyemi, the wondered if the governor saw the new logo before assenting to its bill.

The statement reads: “The new logo is an embarrassment to us in Osun. Who did they give the contract to? Didn’t Governor Adeleke see it before assenting to the bill? With an array of technologically inclined youths we have in Osun who can come up with good designs and global concepts, how could a state government unveil such a poorly designed logo?

“What happened to the original logo being used since the creation of Osun state? We all spoke against it when the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola designed a new logo for the state and abandoned the one in use before he came into office as a governor.

“The one we have now is however worse compared to the one given the state by Aregbesola. Osun has become a laughing stock on different social media platforms since the unveiling of the new state logo.

“For those that have ears in this government, a drastic step needs to be taken. The logo should be withdrawn from public to save Osun from this unnecessary bashing, “the statement concluded.
