Police arrest four ex-convicts in Niger

Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspected ex-convicts cum robbery gang members in Minna, the state capital.

The suspects, Yahaya Mohammed, Ayuba Simon (aka Douglas), Menasse Makama, and Nuhu Azuka (aka Junior), are currently detained at the Crack Squad office, assisting the police with information about their criminal activities.

According to a press bulletin issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu A. Abiodun, on April 15, 2024, at about 0250hrs, police operatives received a complaint about an armed robbery incident at a residential building in the Brighter Schools area of Minna.

The suspects robbed the victim and carted away a Honda Odyssey vehicle and other valuables.

Using technical intelligence and community information, the police arrested the suspects, who confessed to the crime and previous armed robberies.

They had previously served jail terms for their crimes.

The police recovered a Honda Odyssey vehicle with Reg. No. AG 400 PAK, a POS machine, a Samsung TV, two standing fans, and other valuables from the suspects.

The suspects are still under investigation and will be charged to court for prosecution upon conclusion of the investigation.
