Adejobi said the force would be willing to work with the operators of the site for the sake of safety

The Nigerian police have uncovered an illegal gun factory in Jos, the capital of Plateau State. Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, announced this development in a series of tweets early on Thursday.
He further revealed that security operatives recovered a fabricated AK-47 and several other locally made guns at the site.
He said, “Some of the fabricating machines recovered at the gun factory in Jos. We recovered many well fabricated guns at the site. See how perfect the fabricated AK47 is. It’s unbelievable.”
Adejobi added that the force would be willing to work with the operators of the site for the sake of safety.
He continued: “All these pistols were locally fabricated in the factory in Jos. The guys are talented. We need to work on them, for our good.”

In February, the Nigerian Army also said that in its determination to rid the troubled North Central region of criminals, troops of Operation Safe Haven under Hakorin Damisa IV busted a rifle fabrication factory, arrested one suspect and recovered several arms and ammunition.
The army said that the troops during clearance operations on rugged mountainous terrain in the state discovered an isolated structure which turned out to be a weapons fabrication factory situated on a high ground in Pakachi village in the Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
