A police officer identified as Ibrahim Shagari has cut off the hand of his pregnant wife, Hauwa Shagari, for spending N3,000 out of the N20,000 he kept with her for safekeeping in Plateau State.My Ministry and the Plateau State Gender Commission have begun an investigation into the unfortunate incident and will ensure justice is served.”
She, however, commended the Nigeria Police Force and Plateau State Command for swiftly arresting the perpetrator and charged the command to use the same vigour in concluding their investigation so that justice is fully served to serve as a warning to others that the long arm of the law will spare no one, regardless.
Efforts to reach the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, proved abortive, as he could not be reached on his phone.
