Qatar pledges to build primary school for children orphaned by insurgency in Borno

The Qatari government has pledged support to Borno for the construction of a new primary school catering to children orphaned by the insurgency in the state.
Ali Bn Ghanem Al-Hajari, Qatari ambassador to Nigeria, announced this during a meeting with Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno, in Maiduguri. Al-Hajari stated that Qatar would provide a conducive learning environment for approximately 1,000 affected children.
As part of this commitment, the ambassador laid the foundation for the new school during his visit, emphasizing its role in the government’s efforts to educate victims of terrorism.
Zulum had in January laid a foundation stone for the building of an orphanage supported by the Qatar Charity Foundation.

The governor expressed appreciation to the Qatari government for the support, adding that he would ensure the orphans are provided with an enabling environment.
The ambassador was accompanied by Abdullah Alnuimi, his assistant and Hamid Abdou, country director of the Qatar Charity Foundation.
