Prof Okeniyi’s appointment, according to the statement is for an initial term of four years as the head of OAUTH with effect from August 24, 2023.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Daju Kachollom, who presented the letter on behalf of the Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof Ali Pate, reminded him of the responsibility of the office and the yearnings of the Nigerian people for an effective and responsive healthcare delivery system.

He said, “It is expected that you will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that the Hospital (OAUTH) continues to deliver quality healthcare services to our people.”
Okeniyi while speaking, thanked the Federal Government for finding him worthy to serve and pledged to be upright and diligent in carrying out his new assignment in line with the renewed hope agenda of the administration.
Okeniyi said, “I promise that I will not disappoint Mr. President and the Ministry of Health. I will work in collaboration and harmony with all stakeholders, and look into the welfare of staff of the hospital. I will also do my best to ensure that the incessant internal crisis at the hospital will be brought to an end”.
