There are different students’ reactions to exam results for anyone in the universities. It varies depending on which class or category you fall under.
Generally speaking, freshers always take this process of checking seriously and hard, but those already in their second or third year usually have a sense of nonchalance. And you see the final-year students? They’ve seen it all. However, the thought of spillover comes along with apprehension when checking results.
1. The ‘I-am- happy-to-see-my-result’ student
When results are out, some students are grateful because they’ve been waiting all their lives for them. They check the portal before they sleep and after they wake up. These students are often very confident of what they’ve done over time and can’t wait to see if their results match their efforts.
2. The ‘timekeeping’ student
These ones are always the first to know when the results are out, and it makes you wonder how. Is it that they never log out of their portal, or do they just have superpowers that never fail? Once they send fire emojis to the departmental or unit group, you know they have information about a result.
3. The ‘I-am-scared’ student
People who often have this kind of reaction when results are out are the ones who are afraid of what the outcome might look like. This usually comes from an experience they had before or during an exam. Just imagine a student dealing with memory loss during exams after preparing hard all semester, someone having a severe health breakdown during exams, or someone showing up an hour late for an exam.
These people usually pray, fast about it, and never cease to tell anyone interested that they might just fail the course.
4. The ‘It -could-have-been-worse’ student
When results are out, this set of people are the ones that score E or narrowly passed to avoid sadness. They try to console themselves with the assurance that it could have been worse. They usually don’t care about being at the top of the class; they just can’t wait to graduate. If you look closely, you’ll see that they have other interests that matter to them, and school doesn’t stand a chance.
5. The ‘I-stand-gallant’ student
These students are very confident that their grades will be good, no matter what. They are usually at the top of the class. They might also pretend not to know anything sometimes, but deep down, they know that when results are out, they will smash it.
