Zulum appoints Sen. Kakashehu as 2024 Hajj committee chairman

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has appointed the Senator representing Borno Central District, KakaShehu Lawan, as the chairman for the 2024 Borno Hajj steering committee.

Inaugurating the committee at the council chamber, Government House Maiduguri, on Saturday, Zulum noted that the aim of establishing the committee was to ensure a strong base that would drive an effective exercise of the 2024 Hajj in Mecca.

Speaking, Sen. Lawan explained that the job of steering the Hajj committee is multi-tasking but with the help of committee members, it will be very easy and successful.

According to him, from previous experiences, Borno recorded the lowest abscondment of female pilgrims in Mecca, which shows the commitment of the Borno government to providing the necessary platform for a successful Hajj.
