Admission into Oyo nursing, midwifery college now through JAMB — Provost

The provost of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr Gbonjubola Owolabi, has said that admission into the college’s nursing programme is now through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), just as he added that the college has also extended the sale of the Basic Midwifery Form for a further four weeks from the initial deadline of March 20.

She added that through the college’s admission policy, it would not compromise standards.

On the extension of the midwifery admission, Dr Owolabi said it is to create more time for prospective students who might still be interested in obtaining the form.

The provost stated further that the computer-based test (CBT) is now scheduled to take place on the 22nd–24th of April, while the interview date is slated for May 2nd and 3rd, 2024.

The provost charged interested candidates to take advantage of the extended period and visit the office of the registrar or ICT centre of the college for further inquiry.

She said, “Admission into Basic Nursing is now through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB); the College will not compromise her standard as admission would strictly be based on merit.

“Post-UTME forms will be available at the college after the release of results for those who attained the cut-off mark of 200 and above in their examination.”

She added that the admissions process for the Community Nursing and Community Midwifery programme has commenced, and candidates for the programme will be shortlisted from their local government areas.

She commended Governor Seyi Makinde for paying the full fees of all the candidates that would be recommended for the programme from all 33 local government areas and local council development areas.
