Anambra CP Aderemi bows out of service

Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr Adeoye Aderemi, has inspected the final parade as a CP, just as he retires from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The parade took place at Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, on Saturday.

In his speech shortly after the parade, CP Aderemi, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun and Nigerians as a whole for allowing him to serve his fatherland without regret of any form after thirty-five years in service.

According to him, “I was first posted to Anambra in 1991 when the State was created before traveling to other parts of the World to upgrade my carrier status, and shortly after my returned to Nigeria I was posted to Niger-Delta region, North East and currently in South East, Anambra State precisely, to battle Militancy, Boko-haram and Unknown gunmen respectively without any scars in my body, I return all glory to God Almighty.

“As a police officer, I was offered the opportunity to develop myself and to attain more knowledge across the globe.”

Aderemi commended the sister security agencies, DSS, NDCDC, Army, Immigration Service, and the State Vigilante Group for their collaboration in the fight against crime in the state.

“While also commending the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo for ensuring a conducive environment for residents, described Anambra people as kind and generous.”

He urged personnel of the Command not to relent in their efforts to discharge their duties to Ndi-Anambra.

Governor Soludo in his note of commendation, said Aderemi served Anambra and the country with the mental and physical strength he is endowed with, saying it was time for him to drop off the uniform for a post-service life.

According to Soludo, who was represented at the parade ceremony by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Aderemi will be remembered for his doggedness, commitment, and dedication.

“Aderemi assumed office as the Anambra commissioner of Police, at the time when the State was battling with the unknown gunmen, and within a short period, the state became peaceful due to his tireless effort, adding that the CP attended to his constitutional duties with vigour, courage, and without giving excuses.

“There is usually a time to start and a time to end in everyone’s life, so therefore, on behalf of the governor and good people of Anambra State, we say thank you and God bless,” the Ibezim stated.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Traditional Obosi community, Igwe Dobem Iweka, his Umueri community counterpart, Igwe Ben Emeka, the Yoruba community leader in Anambra State, Oba Allahaji Abdulrazak Olaha, and the leader of Modekeke Progressive Union, Mr Samuel Olaniyi, described CP Aderemi as a man of courage and integrity.
