APC primary: I’ll still be first female governor in Ondo — Waheed-Adekojo

A governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship primary election in Ondo State, Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, has expressed her determination and commitment towards changing the political narrative.

Waheed-Adekojo who stated this in a statement to appreciate her supporters expressed optimism to become the first female governor in the state, saying there’s always another time.

Waheed-Adekojo while appreciating her teeming supporters for their love, support and contributions during her governorship aspiration and for their unflinching support.

She said ” I have come this far because of your support and your prayer, indeed you pushed forward to rebuild our nation, remember that this is not the end of the road, we will come back stronger again.

“We cannot afford to be relegated to the background but we must show commitment to politics and aim for the best in the country’s political landscape

“I have moved on. For me, it is not a do-or-die affair. I have been able to prove a point to the womenfolk that we can do it

“I am using the opportunity to urge my supporters to calm down. It is not the end of the road, there is always another time.

“I am at the forefront that women should take up the challenge and show more interest in becoming governors in their respective states.

“I am overwhelmed with the support from my people who stood by me during the primary election.

“This will not in any way deter me from contesting again. It is a morale booster for me that I can do it.

“So let me use this very wonderful opportunity, to appreciate Ondo state people, especially the youths, the women, all the younger generation, the people living with disabilities, and all the various groups and organizations from within the state and outside the state have given the support so far.”
