They are Mr Eyarefe O. Stephen (president), Mr Jude Ngene (vice president 1); Mr Yakubu Akogu (vice president 2), Mr Jethro Haruna (secretary), Mr Fisayo Akinfesola (assistant secretary), Mr Rufai Haruna (financial secretary), Mrs Ngozi R. Professor John Emaimo, the rector of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy Enugu (FEDCODTTEN) and guest speaker at the conference, with the theme ‘Leadership: A Paradigm for Advancing Dental Technology Practice in Nigeria,’ advocated and encouraged dental practitioners, particularly dental technologists, to aspire for leadership positions in the society of Nigeria and globally.

At the 35th scientific conference and annual general meeting presided over by the outgoing president of the association, Comrade Raji A. Kazeem, in Lafia, Nasarawa State, issues discussed included the use of ‘technologist’ and/or ‘technicians’ designation to be exclusive for dental technologists within the dental sector, the establishment of ‘LECRON,’ a biennial journal for the association, and the rectification of the status of the association with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Members of the association, in a communiqué issued and signed by Eyarefe O. Stephen and Jethro Haruna Joe, the association’s new national president and national secretary, respectively urged the government to increase national security surveillance, take proactive steps regarding the economic hardship affecting the general public and check the degenerating moral standard in society, especially among the youth.
