Lagos CP harps on community policing to curb crimes

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade has harped on the importance of community policing to the security of lives and properties around Mushin and other parts of the state.

The Lagos police boss, while speaking during his one-day working visit to Area D Command, Mushin also urged security stakeholders in the area to see security as everybody’s business.

CP Fayoade also promised that the police in the state would work round the clock to ensure that law-abiding residents of the state go about with their businesses without being harassed by any criminal.

“We have no choice than to serve you very well and diligently”. 

“The community must partner with the police for better and effective policing The criminals live amongst us in the community.

“Unless we work with the police, the criminals will continue to hibernate amongst us and continue to commit crime.

“The idea of shielding criminals in our community will soon be a thing of the past.

“Once they know that there is no hiding place for them, the next-door neighbour will not shield them, they will yarn a new leaf.” 

CP Fayoade stressed that The support of the members of the public is very vital to ensuring security of lives and properties.

 “Mushin had a lot of miscreants that have to be checked. We will take the battle to their territory so that they will stop disturbing the peace of the area,” the police boss stated.

The Lagos police boss also claimed; “We have reduced one chance robbery to the barest minimum We will work to ensure that we eradicate traffic robbery in Lagos. 

“We will not allow criminal immigrants to make life difficult and unbearable for the law abiding residents of the state. 

“Our commitment to peace in Lagos is total. We want the good people of Mushin to go about with their business without being robbed, harassed , and intimidated by anybody.” 

The Area Commander in charge of Area D, ACP Bamidele Awoniyi commended the Lagos police boss for providing the necessary support to fight crime and criminality in Mushin and its environs.

He also pleaded with the police not to provide patrol vehicles for some of the divisions under Mushin area command.
