NSCDC organises refresher training for Agro Rangers corps in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command has organised a one-week refresher training of the Agro Rangers Corps in the state.

Declaring the refresher training open at the State Command’s Headquarters in Gusau, today, Thursday, April 25, 2024, Commandant Sani Mustapha said the refresher training has become imperative as the Corps is making adequate preparations towards ameliorating the wave of insecurity in the state.

Sani Mustapha opined that the Agro Rangers Corps, which is a special marshal of the Corps trained to mediate between farmers and herders, will be instrumental in the consolidation of security and peace in any community cleared of brigandage by the Nigerian military.

He said the Rangers will play a complementary role to the military in the eradication of insurgency in local communities.

The NSCDC boss described the operations to be embarked on by the Rangers at the end of the training as consolidation operations.

Commandant Sani Mustapha lauded the innovative tactics of the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, MNI OFR, in tackling insecurity in the nation and insisted that Zamfara State Command is ready to complement his efforts.

He posited that the Agro Rangers Corps, which is the brainchild of the indefatigable Commandant General, is therefore set to carry out its mandates in Zamfara State.

Commandant Sani Mustapha therefore enjoined the Rangers to take the refresher training seriously and be dedicated to whatever drill they were to do.

He therefore assured the Rangers of the commitment of the State Government to create a conducive working environment that will facilitate their effective service delivery.

The refresher training, which is to last for one week, will be concluded with a robust passing-out parade, of which His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr Lawal Dauda, is expected to launch the operations in grand style.
