Police need residents’ support to keep Ogun safe — Pelican Valley CEO

Nigerian real estate entrepreneur, Babatunde Adeyemo, has urged residents of Ogun State to provide necessary support to the Nigeria Police and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to ensure the safety of life, property and businesses in the state.

Adeyemo disclosed that the support was necessary because a safe and secure state is a collective responsibility.

He also urged residents to raise their awareness level about happenings in their immediate communities and neighbourhoods, adding that being vigilant and taking necessary steps to alert the police or PCRC of any security threat will go a long way to preventing crimes, save life and property from criminals.

He stated this on Thursday evening at the Kayode Egbetokun Event Centre, Babangida Boulevard, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta shortly after he was presented with a certificate of appreciation and recognition by the PCRC at its 40th anniversary and 2024 Annual General Meeting/Dinner Award ceremony,

He described the honour bestowed on him as one that “will be mutually beneficial” and commended PCRC and the Police for the recognition.

While urging well meaning Nigerians, especially residents to collaborate with the PCRC to make their communities crime-free, Adeyemo recalled that Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, the real estate firm behind Pelican Valley Estate, Pelican Valley Brief Estate, Pelican Valley Ecostay Apartments and Pelican Valley Greenish Farm Estate, as a responsible corporate entity, has been lending supportive hands to the police and PCRC in recognition of their critical roles in keeping Ogun State safe.

“We join well meaning Nigerians to say we are proud to be associated with the Nigerian police and the PCRC. We have track records. Pelican Valley is proud to be associated with you. There is no doubt that it is going to be a mutually beneficial relationship and we have extended hands of fellowship to the Nigeria Police severally and we will also extend the same to the PCRC. We will always support them.

“Security is everybody’s business.We just have to collaborate with Nigeria Police and PCRC in Ogun State, we should always be aware of what’s happening in our immediate environment. With vigilance in place, it will be difficult for criminals to execute their plans and people will also not be victims of crimes. We urge everyone to be security conscious,” he said.

According to the PCRC, Adeyemo was honoured for his “excellent leadership performance towards the upliftment and development of Nigeria Police and Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Command.”

State Commandant of So-Safe Corps was also honoured by the PCRC at the event that had in attendance the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (rtd); Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, among other dignitaries.
