The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are currently in a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS General SG Musa, at the Defence Headquarters, DHQ, Abuja.

The Duke and Duchess, who were accompanied by Director of Sports, Defence Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal, Abidemi Marquis, and Director of Defence Information, DDI, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, amongst other top military brass, arrived at the DHQ at about 12:45 pm.

Prince Harry’s decision to visit Nigeria followed an invitation by the military high command following the nation’s debut appearance at the 2023 Invictus Games, held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The DHQ revealed on Thursday that their visit to Nigeria would focus on engaging with the nation’s wounded and injured soldiers and their families.

After the meeting with the CDS, the couple will proceed to Kaduna to visit the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, where the wounded and injured soldiers are being kept for their medical recovery.
