Sen Natasha, Murtala Ajaka condemn abduction of CUSTECH students

In a unified stance against the recent abduction of students at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka have vehemently condemned the heinous attack.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central senatorial district, expressed her dismay at the unfortunate incident, labelling it as unacceptable.

She emphasised the sanctity of learning environments and called for enhanced security measures to prevent future occurrences.

Akpoti-Uduaghan urged security agencies to ensure the safe release of the abducted students and to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.

Additionally, she pledged her support and assistance to facilitate the safe return of the students.

Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the Kogi State 2023 gubernatorial election, echoed similar sentiments, describing the attack as barbaric, cruel, and a failure of policing.

He criticised the state government’s handling of the situation, particularly regarding the transparency of information concerning the number of abducted students.

Ajaka emphasised the paramount importance of prioritising the safe return of the students and urged the state government to deploy all available security resources for their rescue.

Both Akpoti-Uduaghan and Ajaka stressed the need for immediate action to secure the harmless return of the abducted students to their families.

They called upon the government to intensify efforts to enhance security not only within the university but also across the state
