Taraba FA crisis: Court summons NFF president, others

Justice Salim O. Ibrahim of the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo has issued orders summoning the Taraba State government and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.unfailingly on the next adjourned date.

Additionally, the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, Yakubu Maikasuwa (SAN), was also instructed by the court to ensure the presence of the commissioner of Youths and Sports in court.

Barrister Onoja Joshua, representing the President of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, was also directed to ensure the appearance of his clients on the next adjourned date.

The lawyer is representing the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, and the General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, as well as Mr Timothy Heman Magaji, chairman of the Taraba State Football Association, and Hassan Abubakar.

The proceedings are in response to allegations of contempt of court filed against the aforementioned NFF officials and the Taraba State Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Joseph Joshua.

It would be recalled that the plaintiffs had earlier approached the court over position of the Taraba State FA chairman.

The case has been adjourned to May 27, 2024, for further mention.
